Normal eye pressure is between 14-20 mm of hg. If pressure increases, it results in loss of peripheral vision, tunnel vision and blindness.

Generally in early stages there are no ‘symptoms’. One may not notice a car passing from the side as they lose their peripheral vision.

Is Glaucoma curable?
Glaucoma is not curable but controllable. There has been excellent medical advancement for treating Glaucoma. If the patient, losing their eyes is an impossibility now. Laser trabeculoplasty, iredectomy and in a rare events trabeculectomy surgery are excellent time tested techniques.
Important:
The key to fight Glaucoma – is early diagnosis, prompt and regular follow up. If there is any family history maternal or paternal of loss of vision and or Glaucoma, should be extremely careful and get their eyes checked regularly every year for early diagnosis and treatment.
