The
1st of December will see bollywood superstar Amitabh bachchan
inaugurate a unique, weeklong charitable eye camp organized by vission eye
center for Lasik eye surgery Mumbai, a highly reputed, renowned,
state-of-the-art eye care treatment center in the western suburb in Mumbai, The
honorable cabinet minister for health, Sheri Digvijay Khanvilkar and the honorable
minister of state for home, Shri Kripashankar singh will be the guests of honor
for this event.

Eye Center Mumbai, this eye camp, which will be open to public from Dec 2-7 (from
2pm-7pm), will provide free consultancy for all kinds of queries related to eye
care and treatment. Efforts are also underway to ensure free treatment to
deserving and need patients by engaging support and sponsorship from select
hospitals and corporate bodies.
The
one week long camp will be witness to Dr.Himanshu
Mehta’s decade long experience and expertise
spanning over five thousand surgeries from 6 month old toddlers to 105 years
old senior citizens.
Having
completed his under-graduate and post-graduate training in reputed medical
school in asia, Seth G.S Medical college,
KEM and Master in surgery from Bombay university, DR.Himanshu Mehta then
went on to do his super-specialty training in ophthalmology from Houston , USA.
His fellowship in vitreo retinal surgery with DR.Charles AGarcia, Director,
Retina service, Herman hospital, Houston set him on the path for a successful
career. He also was involved in some of the early studies in eximer laser that
led him to done his craft.
His
area of focus is cataract and phaco-emulsification surgery and Vitreo-Retinal surgery.
He is skilled at performing the most complicated cases from cataract to Lasik
to retinal detachment surgery. He has taken it upon himself to rid people of
blindness caused by diabetes and is orienting people about the causes and
effects. His clientele range from the abject poor to lobbying politicians to
the stars of the big screen. Amitabh Bachchan, Karishma Kapoor, Mr. Subrato
Roy, his holiness- The Dalai Lama and a host of other celebrities and socialist
have availed of his services time and again.
DR. Himanshu Mehta is also associated with
charitable organization and contributes a significant amount of time and effort
